James M. Hofer received his bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Hofer is licensed to practice in Michigan and Illinois, as well as before both federal district courts in Michigan.

Mr. Hofer is recognized by The National Trial Lawyers organization as a “Top-100 Trial Lawyer” and is currently a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. (ATLA). He is also a member of the Michigan Association for Justice, formerly known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association (MTLA), and he has served as a member of MAJ’s Executive Board.

Mr. Hofer is a frequent lecturer for MAJ regarding a variety of topics dealing with personal-injury litigation. He currently chairs MAJ’s “People’s Law School” committee, which provides practical legal education to the general public in order to promote the understanding of legal rights.
