Michigan’s No-Fault insurance act was passed in 1972 to protect victims of motor vehicle accidents. According to this act, if you have been injured in a motor vehicle collision, your insurance company is responsible for covering the costs for medical care, including home care if needed, as well as providing wage loss benefits. Although insurance companies are required by law to pay for these expenses, some companies will deny claims improperly and not pay you what you are legally entitled to receive under Michigan law. At Sinas, Dramis, Brake, Boughton & McIntyre, P.C., our attorneys who handle home care benefits and No-Fault insurance claims throughout the State of Michigan, including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, Lansing, Jackson, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, are intimately familiar with the Michigan No-Fault insurance law and have extensive experience in litigating the complex cases that arise from an insurance company’s failure to pay a required No-Fault benefit.
Don’t let insurance companies hinder your recovery by failing to pay for No-Fault benefits you are entitled to receive. To speak with one of our attorneys who handle home care benefits cases in Michigan, about the specifics of your case, contact the Sinas Dramis law firm today.
Home care benefits are provided to individuals who have been seriously injured in an accident. Specifically, victims of accidents involving motor vehicles are entitled to collect home care benefits in Michigan if a medical professional deems their injuries to be sufficiently serious.
Serious injuries that may require the presence of a 24-hour home nurse or other health care professional include spinal cord injuries, TBI, amputations, and severe burn injuries.
Home care benefits can be provided for as long as the victim needs them. That is, persons injured in an accident may collect home care benefits for life, without cap, as long as it is considered to be reasonably necessary.
Under Michigan law, there is no monetary cap on certain No-Fault benefits including medical treatment. Depending on your injuries, and the treatment you receive, this could amount to a lifetime benefit.
