Bernard F. Finn was admitted to the practice of law in Michigan in 1976 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Mr. Finn is also admitted to practice before the Federal Courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, and the United States Supreme Court. Currently, his practice is primarily focused on family law matters.

Since being admitted to the practice of law, Mr. Finn has served on the Executive Board of the Ingham County Bar Association, and he has also served on the Michigan Supreme Court Standing Committee on Criminal Jury Instructions. He has authored several published articles on a variety of legal topics and is a frequent speaker on divorce and domestic relations matters. He has also been designated by the Courts in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties as a qualified mediator for domestic-relations matters.

Mr. Finn is listed in Michigan Super Lawyers and has been recognized in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 2001 in the field of domestic-relations law. Most recently, “Best Lawyers” also honored him with the prestigious Lawyer of the Year award for Family Law in Lansing.

Outside of his law practice, Bernie is an avid long-distance runner and bicyclist. To date, he has successfully completed eight marathons (and counting). Bernie was also a member of the 2010 Team USA Duathlon Team for the 2010 World Championships in Edinburgh Scotland.
